The solar generation tool is designed to help you generate needed solar generation data to run the Techno-economic tool.
Using you zip code we utilize a database of satellite solar irradiance data to determine the PV generation at your location.
You can download the results and use it for the techno-economic analysis. Note that the resulting file is in UTC time.
The estimated solar generation uses the following process:
- The pvlib toolbox is used to generate a solar PV system with your inputs.
- Solar farm with panel DC potential as input.
- Inverters are sized based on the DC/AC ratio.
- Total system efficiency as input.
- Panels are fixed, south facing, with a tilt angle input.
- The PVGIS-ERA5
satellite dataset is used for irradiance data in your location based on zipcode.
-
A simulation is ran over the number of years you select.
-
Resulting time-series data in UTC can be downloaded.
